What’s a good diet for losing body fat and gaining muscle?

I have started an exercise program at home and I need to start a diet and eating healthy now though. Does anyone know of a good diet plan to help me lose body fat percentage and gain muscle. I have looked at the belly off diet from men’s health if anyone knows about that and if it works or not. Thanks.
Well I’m about 175lbs and I’m about 6ft 1in. I have my top four abs showing kind of and would like to reduce my body fat to better see my abs and tone up the rest of my body.

Eating healthy food such as fresh fruits and vegetables all the time is essential to keeping your weight off and having a healthy lifestyle. Of course, a good weight training and exercise program that includes cardio workouts is also a good thing as well.

Here are 2 diet plans in a review that’s pretty comprehensive that may help you out:

Sunday- cardio for 30-45 minutes, 5 minute stretch
Monday- weight train -1 hour, 5 minute stretch
Tuesday- cardio for 30-45 minutes, 5 minute stretch
Wednesday- weight train- 1 hour, 5 minute stretch
Thursday- cardio- 30-45 minutes, 5 minute
Friday weight train- 1 hour, 5 minute stretch
    Saturday- abs until fatigue

If you want to completely remove 75% of carbs from your diet that’s a good idea. i suggest eating a baked potato in the middle of the week. eat 1 slice of whole wheat bread on monday and friday. and eat lots of protein and fiber!!! drink water/ green tea, no sugar if possible. eat vegitables and fruit. on a low carb diet you need to rest 2 minutes between sets of lifting. eat carbs with the fiber.

    good luck

I hope t his helps. I used to lift weights and could put on a lot of muscle.
You need to do more reps. and less cardio. If you do too much cardio; you’ll have less energy for weight lifting, and will also look leaner rather than bulked up. You need to be persistent with increasing your weight but don’t over stress your joints. You should not do weights every day.
You should probably do your front upper body and your back lower body on the same day, and your back upper body with your front lower body on the same day ( work out your whole body two days at a time then rest on the third; also rest on the odd day left over.(sunday maybe?). You should do your abs and lower back extra; do them every day aerobically for about ten minutes. A thinner waist makes your other body parts look bigger. most of your shoulder muscles are considered upper front muscles. I didn’t name the muscles off by their official names because you can find that on the internet under "pictures of human anatomy muscles" There are literally tons of images at your disposal.

    You should eat 60/30/10.
this means 60 percent of your daily calorie should come from carbs, 30 percent should come from protein, and 10 percent should come from fat.
for bulking up eat extra lean protein, or drink protein shakes from GNC or some other vitamin/healthy dietary supplement store.
Be sure to take the daily recommended amt. of your daily vitamins and fish oil for omega 3.
You should take extra vitamins and minerals: a, b12, c, and calcium.
Eat lots of fiber and vegetables and drink adequate potassium drinks like gatoraide or poweraide.
    Don’t over do anything.

Get a healthy amt. of sleep each day or night. Apx. 6 to 9 hours.
Run plenty of water over your body as warm as you can stand it without going over board or burning yourself; This will help your muscles recover better and faster.

Again, I hope that this helps.
    peace, and joy!
