What is the best exercise program to build up muscle enough to be fit, and improve cardiac strenght?

How many days per week? How many minutes of cardio and what are the exercises for cardio? How many minutes of weight lifting and what muscle groups to work out and when? This program is for a 25 yr old female.

The best program for this is that used by celebrities. Functional resistance interval training. This is high-intensity cardio training utilizing full-body exercises. Blasts 500-600 ccalories in 20 minutes and produces post-workout calorie burn during the next 2 days! Below is a site featuring free videos with a fitness model performing such workouts. There is also a paid product called "Turbulence Training". These are the best.

Good luck!

If you are looking for a program to do all that…I would recommend P90X or something a little less intense would be Chalean Extreme……..>

EVERYONE should do cardio at least 5 times a week, 30 minutes a day. This would be running, elliptical, biking, hiking, power walking (if that’s all you can handle at first), etc, to have your heart rate up & be sweating. This is mainly for your heart & lung benefit (hence the term ‘cardio’), but also burns off fat.
If you want muscle mass to build, I LOVE JERI LOVE! She’s an awesome chick who does weight lifting for girls, to just be lean (not bulky). You just use 3-5 lb weights, and build up to like 8 lb as you get stronger, and can do all her dvds in your living room. You seriously feel results after EVERY time, and it feels amazing! You should do this 3 times/week.
If you’ll do weight lifting in a gym, be very careful to not overdo it. Usually do upper body one day, then you have to let that rest/heal with a day off (doing lower body on the next day). As a girl, do lots of reps at a lower weight, just enough to feel it, but not strain yourself. You don’t want to get bulky, just lean.
    Good luck!

I would highly suggest the free workouts called Chiseled to strengthen and build muscle. You can find them here

Blake’s an excellent trainer and former body builder. He’s got a new workout every day. Cruise through the archives to see the other shows. I think he’s nuts for not charging an access fee, but he doesn’t. There’s nothing to sign up for. Just pick a show and start watching.
