Does anyone know a good workout DVD/program for a 50 year old woman?

Trying to give a relative a gift. She wants to get some exercise after work, but we live in an area where its not safe to walk at night. Does anyone recommend any DVDs or programs that would be good for a 50 year old woman (obviously nothing too intense, she just wants some exercise). Thanks!

Exercise TV instructor Leslie Sansone has an excellent walking workout. You can do the full intensity or take it down depending on your fitness level. Strength training program for women? [weight loss?] PLEASE HELP!?

Im on a diet and im doing cardio, now i just need to add in strength training for weight loss, i want to lose the stomach fat and the thigh fat, can anyone make me a plan for strength training at home or tell me what your doing? Im not in a gym, i do my exercising at home. 3 day or a 4 day plan would be wonderful! Please help! thanks.

It’s very hard to lose weight in a specific area because like gaining weight, the body just does it wherever it wants to. Diet and exercise are great, but in your case, you want to build muscle which will burn even more fat. I would suggest buying a couple sets of free weights (such as two five pounds and two ten pound weights) and then trying some of these exercises:

There are sections that tell you what muscle group the exercises target, but I would try to work out every muscle group possible. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to alternate muscle groups on Monday and Wednesday, then Tuesday and Thursday. For example, focus on upper body/arms on MW and on TR focus on lower body/legs. Just pick a few exercises and do those for a couple of weeks and then pick new exercises that work the same muscle groups for the next couple of weeks. That way the body doesn’t get used to a certain motion and it will continue to build muscle.

to all women who have ever dieted and been successful…?

Hi. I posted a question recently about how frustrated I was with the results (so far) from my diet and exercise program. I eat no more than 1200-1500 calories of healthy foods a day and exercise 5 to 6 days a week for 1 to 2 hours, combination of cardio, weight lifting and abdominals and some pilates. I have lost 5 pounds but i have no lost a single inch anywhere. My clothes fit exactly the same. I dont understand. I should at least notice an inch or so difference, but NOTHING.

question is, when did you start noticing loss of inches (or cm)? How long did it take. Please help. I work so hard and am seeing no results (the weight loss im assuming is just water).

After about 2 and a half weeks I lost my first inch and from then they just started falling off! (Lost 4 inches so far!)♥
