Weight Loss Programs?

What is the best weight loss programs for men under 30? I don't want to see eat right and exercise. Im talking about the atkins program ect.

Many of those diets out there with the exception of wt watchers is just ridiculous, they rid you of the food your body needs… You need complex carbs, fruits, veggies, proteins and yes even small amounts of fats. Try interval training and drinking water 2L per day at least. Your healthiest and best results will come from this not from some fad diet. I promise. I am a CPT student, and we just covered these. If you decide to do a diet, such as atkins, I hope you do not develop some health problems in the future. Good Luck to ya!

Gymnastics training for men.?

I'm very interested in training similar to a male "still rings" gymnast. However, as of now, I'd be starting from the very bottom. I have no prior experience and practically no strength. I'm very coordinated and agile, however. I'd like to start a training program to become more physically fit, but I also work full time. Any suggestions where to start or where I can go to find a way to make this happen? I'd be willing to by my own pair of rings, but I have no idea where to go for starter exercises/routines that can build my strength up so that I can move on to more fitting, and probably more known exercises.

Again, any suggestion would be helpful.

Also, I don't use my yahoo account often, so if you'd like, you may email me at jrod89@gmail.com

Thanks,
Jared

Hey Jared,
How you doin'?

Why not sign up for an adult gymnastics class. They assume no prior knowledge and if you're in a MAG gym they will definitely have a pair of rings.
However you don't just do the rings. You train on all the other apparatus to develop the strength and prerequisite (build up) moves necessary to perform on the rings.

fat chick looking for some help?

Okay so Here are my specs I am 19years old, 5ft 6inch Female and I roughly weigh about 180lbs.
(i don't own a scale but when i had a physical last I was 180 and my eating habits have not changed since then. it was about 2 months ago.)

I would like to try and get into shape by going into a diet. The type of diet program I'm looking for isn't like weight watchers or anything. Before, I began a food journal and wrote in it everyday of what I ate and any activities I did that would be considered exercise. I mostly ate salads and had a low carb diet. I was wondering though, what type of diet should I restart with ? I don't want to take out carbs all together because its unhealthy and I don't eat red meat if at all.

Secondly, I would like to lose weight by exercising. I have never been to a gym before and the fitness equipment seem really foreign to me.
So I was hoping if there is a good fitness video that seems effective so I can do it at home? Also, what are some healthy exercising at home activities can I do? I would not like to spot train any areas cause I just need the help all over. I'm willing to buy work out equipment except a treadmill, there is no room in my house for it haha….

Can diet pills also be healthy to induce faster weight loss? Which types work the best?

last of all, what would be the healthy weight I should reach my goal to? I heard that 140 is healthy for my age and height. Are there any online sites for free that you can use to track your exercise and weight?

As far as a diet and exercise program comes, diet is the most important part. Food is your bodies fuel, so keep it running on premium. You're right that low carb diets are dangerous and diets high in red meat can also be hard on your kidneys. A good weight goal for you to reach would be 135-140 range. But once you get there if you want to keep going it certainly wouldn't be unhealthy to drop 5-10 more pounds off of that. First off create a time goal by the time you want to be at your goal weight (It's unhealthy to be losing more than 3 pounds or so a week so keep that in mind). Once your body starts losing weight it will fight this by making your body more efficient, making it harder to lose weight. This is when diet cannot lead to weight loss on it's own, meaning exercise now becomes the second most important part of your weight loss plan. Also keep in mind that it takes a caloric deficit of around 3,500 to burn just 1 pound of fat. So this thing's going to take a while.
1. Diet! Eat a diet high in protein! Very important. You don't need red meat for protein, fish, chicken, dairy, grains all have good sources of protein. Eat a diet in which grams of protein outweigh grams of fat. Cut refined sugar out (white grains, white rice and such). Drink water. Eat raw veggies and fruit (carrots, broccoli are good, oranges and bananas are also really good).
2. Your BMR (if you exercise 3-5 times a week) is around 2400 calories, meaning your body will burn about 2400 calories everyday. You don't have to go through each activity you do throughout the day and add up all the calories burned. So, with this, if you intake about 1400 calories everyday this will give you a 1000 calorie deficit everyday. With that, you should reach your goal of 140 in about 4 months or so.
3. Exercise!!!! Once you slow eating down to 1400 calories a day your body will respond by slowing your metabolism, eventually making diet pointless. Exercising is our way of reversing this step.
4. If you are open to buying exercise equipment then I would no doubt about it invest in some good weight lifting equipment. Believe me, lifting is the best fat burning workout you can do. Cardio is supplemental to weight lifting and becomes more effective because of a weight lifting program. Lifting will tighten and shapen, also it will increase your metabolism a lot more vs cardio will just burn fat without much long term gain.
5. Exercise as often as possible. And it is very important that you lift BEFORE you do cardio.

Rate how funny this is (part deux)…?

There was this man who was drastically overweight, at about 450 pounds. He tried everything in the way of diets, from Jenny Craig, to Atkins, to plain old "putting the fork down once in a while".

He talked to one of his friends regarding what he should do. He told him to start exercising, The thing of the matter was that he hated exercising. He recommended that he try the Runner's Program For Men. He told him that you were guaranteed to ose weight in just a matter of days, and that everyone in the program participated regularly, even those who hated to exercise.

He signed up the next day, stating that his goal was to lose 200 pounds, and they offered him three different packages:

25 pounds in one week

75 pounds in one week

100 pounds in one week

He didn't know what to expect, so he decided to go with the 25 pound program. They told him his personal trainer would be there in the morning at 7:30.

The next morning, he heard a knock at his door. There was an attractive, athletic woman standing in front of him. The woman was wearing only a pair of Nike's and a sign that read:

"If you can catch me, you can have me."

She immediately took off and he immediately chased after. He chased her through town all day, and after five hours, he caught her and then he had his way with her.

This happened every day for a week, and sure enough, he lost 25 pounds. He liked it so much, he decided to upgrade to the 75 pound package.

The next day an even more beautiful and athletic woman showed up, wearing only a pair of Adidas sneakers and wearing a sign that read:

"If you can catch me, you can have me."

And just like before, he ran after her, chasing her through town for ten hours until he finally caught her and made his way with her. This continued all week, and he lost 75 pounds at the end of it.

The next day he walked into the clinic and told them that he wanted to go for the gold and take the 100 pound program. The attended asked him if he was sure, because this would be his most rigorous and challenging program yet. Nevertheless, he was sure, and he signed up.

The next day, however, Richard Simmons showed up, wearing a pair of Reebok sneakers and a sign that said:

"IF I CAN CATCH YOU, I CAN HAVE YOU."

Rate this, if you like it, I'll post more.
Please mail this to somebody, I want to make as many people as possible laugh at this.

10 out of 10. Soo funny!! You made my day! I laughed sooo hard. Please do more!!!

What type of exercise program do I need to lose weight?

I want to start exercising after a few years of being a couch potato. I am overweight (not obese) and I need to lose weight, but I also want to do it to be healthy.
Should I start just doing cardio activities or should I incorporate weight training (like Nautilus machines) right away? Or should I wait a few months before I start with the Nautilus machines?
I would appreciate your help if you know about this stuff!

The best programs incorporate both. You need to do at least 1 hour of cardiovascular and 3 days a week of strength training. Anything less is just a waste of your time. For weights, do heavy enough weights so that you are exhausted at the last rep of an 8 rep set.

What can you do with a Batchelor's Degree in Exercise Science?

I have my BS in Exercise Science. I am a recent grad, and I am looking to go to physical therapy soon at some point, but before I enter a Doctorate program in PT, I want to get some experience in my field. I know that with my degree I can work in corporate fitness or in places such as the YMCA, but is there anything else I can do with my degree??? This is a hard degree to find a decent job with!
